BUC CORe training - Churches of Refuge

Local Events  |  May 31 2014 - Jun 02 2014

Location: Watford, BUC Offices

Would you like your church to be considered a safe haven - not just for its members, but also for newcomers and those who have not been for a while?  Would you be ok talking to a young adult who is struggling with his faith?  How about teenagers who haven't been to church lately and are worried what people would think if they dropped by this week?  Or would you consider yours a friendly and welcoming place for students who have moved away from home and would like to continue attending but are struggling with added pressures of time tabling, their peers and fitting in? Would you like to know how to disciple those attending and encourage them into active church life?

Could the members of your church welcome these people and more like them with open arms?  Or would you like to learn how to do so?

Then the BUC Churches of Refuge training could be for you! Learning, discussing and sharing with other similar-minded members and youth leaders from other churches around the British Union, you will gain a valuable set of tools and ideas to implement in your local church and community. From Sabbath morning to Sunday afternoon, you are invited to join us at the BUC Offices on Stanborough Park, Watford WD25 9JZ for these meetings.  Local accommodation is available for you to book independently  - please book bed and breakfast.  Lunch and evening meal on Sabbath will be provided and lunch on Sunday.

We should always welcome newcomers through the front door of our church, but watch out for those slipping out of the back.  Become a Church of Refuge and fling those doors wide open and welcome everyone inside!
