Communications (Semaphore element) e-Honour

Category: Vocational

Equipment needed and teaser questions:
If you would like to do the Communications -Semaphore e-Honour, Sunday at 15:00, please prepare a note book plus a pencil or a pen. It would be good to have some flags with you but, in case you don't have them, an old magazine is enough for now in order to practice.

Now two questions:
1) What is the connection with the Communication Semaphore and the Jacket Potato?
2) Which letter position reminds us of the Redemption?
You will get those answers on Sunday.

1.      Do one of the following:
a.       Send and receive by International Morse Code at the rate of three words per minute, using a key, flashlight, whistle, mirror, or buzzer. (Five-letter words, minimum of 20 words.)
b.      Send and receive by semaphore code at the rate of seven words per minute, using semaphore flags. (Five-letter words, minimum of 20 words.)
c.       Send and receive by International Morse Code at the rate of three words per minute using wigwag flags. (Five-letter words, minimum of 20 words)

We suggest that if there are any presentation elements for the requirements you record a video of yourself and include it with your written assessment in your folder.  Your director will check all your work when your club resumes. If all is present and correct, your director can then decide if you may be awarded your honour.

Finished all your requirements?  Complete this form online, print off the confirmation and include in your club folder.
