4. What the camera lens does; what focal length means.

3. Describe pixels, image resolution, and image size.
4. What are the two types of image compression?
5. Name and describe three types of image formats.
6. Give the principle uses of photography.
7. Take pictures illustrating at least eight of the following techniques. Use comparison pictures for illustration:
1. Framing
2. Camera Steadiness
3. Direction of lighting - front, side, or backlighting
4. Quality of light - shade, sunlight, and time of day
5. Rule of thirds
6. Angle - eye level, high, and low level
7. Level horizon
8. Distance from subject - fill the frame
9. Use of leading lines
10. Correct exposure - underexposed, overexposed, and correctly exposed
11. Use of flash - proper distance and reflective objects
8. Learn how to place photos in PowerPoint. Create a PowerPoint presentation showing the pictures you took using the above techniques.
9. Using a photo editing programme on a computer, show ability to crop, colour correct, sharpen, and adjust brightness/contrast to photos.
10. Complete at least three creative photographic projects in a photo editing programme; such as a CD cover, a photo scrapbook page, a collage, etc.
11. Have a basic understanding of file organisation techniques.

We suggest that if there are any presentation elements for the requirements you record a video of yourself and include it with your written assessment in your folder.  Your director will check all your work when your club resumes. If all is present and correct, your director can then decide if you may be awarded your honour.
